Tips for a Merry Christmas on a Budget

1. Christmas Tree

Real Christmas trees are nice, but they are pricey and you have to buy one year after year.  Almost All major Retail Stores sell Artificial Christmas Trees now, and they look great.  Some of them even come with the lights already pre strung.  This will save you money by your second year of using the tree.

2. Gifts

Ok yes one of the best and most stressful parts of the season is gift giving.  The best way to keep this under control is to set a budget.  Have a pre-planned spending limit, per gift for friends, relatives, mom, dad, brothers sisters and kids.

3.  Pick where to shop wisely

You don’t have to be breakdown the door at Best Buy on Black Friday to get great Deals.  When shopping for kids under five, go to the dollar stores.  You will be amazed at the great selection of toys they have for under $5.00.  Also there is no reason not to buy all of the stocking stuffers at a dollar store as well.

4. Wrapping Paper

Do not buy expensive wrapping paper.  Its just going to get torn!

5.  Christmas Dinner – Pot Luck

Ask everyone coming to your house to bring one dish for the Christmas Feast.  Not only does this save you money and preperation time, but it usually makes for a far better meal, because everyone brings the dish they are best at making.
